Stare off

Okay...I want to post this picture. Here Addi and Elizabeth are having a stare-off...it's quite cute.

This Week

So...Kelli says I don't post often enough and so I am going to try and get in a new post at least once a week to try and keep everyone updated on what is going on here.
Elizabeth is getting quite mobile. She is making circles on her belly and can even push herself backwards. So, it's not in the right direction, but I think we're getting somewhere. I tried proping her up onto a pillow to try and get her to put her knees on the ground, but she doens't really like that and turns to look at me like I'm messing her "routine" up. She gives the strangest looks sometimes.

Rachel told Marty to get her one of those beginners toothbrushes and so we did. She doesn't like the bristle end, she prefers to chew on the other end of the toothbrush....it's a bit strange, but at least she's holding it...right.

Addi...our...cat didn't want anything to do with Elizabeth when she first came home. Addi in now realizing she gets a lot of attention from Elizabeth and will try and nudge up against her and will even let Elizabeth pull on her hair. Addi tolerates it for a short time, but she always comes back for more.

I'm trying to keep up with everyday tasks. It seems like I am busier now that I was when I was working. I'm not sure how that works. I am also being forgetful lately. I can't keep my days straight and overlapping appointments. Hopefully, I can have a nice relaxing vacation and try and get back to my normal self. I'm super excited for my in-laws to vacation with us, so they can watch Elizabeth. That's how it's suppose to go...right?
Marty's been a bit busy with work too. He hired a new tech on Monday and he's trying to get her trained before he leaves for a week. We are really lucky to have Bill...we like Bill. He's Marty's fill-in guy so Marty can have a day off...or a week to vacation. Without Bill, Marty would be a crazy man.

Urgent Care

We have the bug going around our home and it has infected Marty and Elizabeth. Most of you know Elizabeth has been under the weather for a little while now and we did think that it was close to being over. She went for her 6 month check-up last Thursday and was looking fine. She is 25 and 3/4 inches long and weighs 15 lbs. 4 oz. Marty and I thought she would weigh closer to 17 lbs. Anyway, Marty started feeling quite sick on Friday and slept a lot over the past couple of days. He took Monday off and went to the doctor where he was diagnosed with a sinus infection and bronchitis...yuck. He's been hacking like Elizabeth and she was getting inconsolable. We decided to take her to urgent care and have her looked at. She has a bit of an ear infection and what we know as a cold. A very long-lasting cold. Needless to say, we were given some antibiotics for the ear infection and sent on our way home. I just hope my home will be sick-free here shortly.

Trip to Vegas and Salt Lake

Elizabeth and I went to Vegas and Salt Lake for a week to visit with her new cousins. We flew into Vegas to see new cousin Carson and cousin Connor, and then Korrie and her boys and us drove to Salt Lake for a couple of days to visit with the new baby Emma and the many cousins she has there. We discovered there that Elizabeth can push herself backwards and get quite far. I'm a bit bummed about the mobile thing. Elizabeth too a liking to Eva and Eva gave Elizabeth lots of kisses and hugs. While we were there, Elizabeth had her first train ride. We took Amtrak from Salt Lake to Ogden and back.
Back in Vegas, we were able to visit with grandparents and more cousins! We did a lot of things there like to to the park. Elizabeth got sick and had a fever. We are still fighting the congestion. We also went to the blessing of baby Connor. It was a very nice visit...minus the sick thing.
