Where did she go?

Last night Marty and I put Elizabeth to bed. She always plays in her room, sometimes for an hour before she actually falls asleep. She is really good about playing quietly and not screaming for us to come get her. Every night before Marty and I head off to bed we always check on Elizabeth just in case she fell asleep on the floor and we have to put her back in bed or she needs covers over her. Well...last night was a bit unusual. I went in to check on her and looked around and couldn't find her. I called Marty in and asked, "Where is she?" That's a bit strange that you go to check on your daughter and she isn't in sight. Talk about a mild panic attack. Marty looked behind the door...no daughter. He looked in the closet...she was sleeping on the floor in the closet. There really isn't much room in there so it's hard for me to believe that she can fit. She was sleeping with her knees tucked under her...into a little ball. It was super hilarious to find her there. So today...nap time...where does she go?...the closet...again. I think it's to get some darkness since her room is so bright.

Camping

This past weekend we went to the coast to go camping. The weather was absolutely wonderful. It's always hit-or-miss when you're talking about the Oregon Coast. The water is way too cold to be in, but Elizabeth was just drawn to the water and waves. She couldn't take her eyes off the water. Martin was sleeping the whole time in my front-pack...thanks Kelli. He missed out on all the excitement, but I think he was content and would rather sleep. We didn't stay long on the beach, because the boys were going off on a fishing trip. They caught a lot of cod and rock bass. (At least I think that's what they caught.) Elizabeth felt a bit warm to me that evening and we took off a day early and headed back home. Elizabeth ended up with a mild fever the next day, bit with some Tylenol and Motrin she is back to her usual self. She still has a bit of a snotty nose. I actually can't wait to go camping again. Hopefully, Martin will be able to hold his head next time and we can put him in the Bumbo seat!

Introducing Lea Ann Reese

Rachel went in Thursday to have her little baby girl. Lea Ann was born Thursday at 10:50 pm. She weighed 8 lbs. and was 20 in. I know that Rachel is glad to be able to hold her baby and not be pregnant anymore. We are really happy for Daniel and Rachel and know that their lives are truely blessed. We think she is a beautiful little baby and are super excited to go to Arizona in June and be able to see this little one. Congratulations!

Smiley

I wanted to post some pictures of Martin. He is beginning to smile a little, and I think it lightens him up. He always had a grumpy look on his face. Now he's my happy baby.

Check-up

Both my kids recently went in for their doctor appointments. Martin had his 2 month check-up today. He's 12 lbs. 7 oz. and is 23 in. Boy is he growing. I've been concerned about him for a while now. He grunts and growns a lot and is quite gassy. I thought he might have intestinal problems. The doctor went ahead and took an x-ray to see if there was any abnormality, but thankfully he is fine. The next thing then is to give him gas drops 4 times a day for 1 week and see if that helps anything. If not, I have to cut milk out of my diet...and if any of you know me very well...I am not excited about that. I love milk! I am willing to put that aside for my son, but I hope it doesn't come to that.
Elizabeth went in for her check-up last week. Of course she is super healthy. She's 22 lbs. 9 ozs. and was 31 in. I had the doctor look at her teeth. She has only 3 on the bottom and I know that they come in pairs. I was wondering why her 4th hasn't come in, since she's had that 3rd one for several months now. She said that she may never get that tooth in, especially of Marty or I are missing any teeth...and yes, that would be me. Rachel says it shouldn't be a concern now, since it still may come in. I think I'll take her advice and not worry...I mean...what can they do...right?

The Kids

Alright...here are some of the newest pictures of our little ones. I think Martin looks very handsome in his outfit...he's on his way to church. Look how his socks are pulled all the way up to his knees. He's still not sure what to do with those hands of his. Elizabeth is loving shoes these days. She need two pairs of them at all times...even when she sleeps. Sandals work best for her...she can grab the ends with her fingers. Doesn't she look peaceful?
